Of course every issue has a place in my heart that holds an opinion all its own. However, to list all of those on here would take quite some time and effort that can be better spent interacting with you, leadership, and those who can make a difference in our state and country.

The topics listed here are some of the greatest importance to me, personally, as I see them affecting my local friends, family and neighbors. I truly believe these points of discussion are paramount to be dealt with immediately, and have therefore chosen to focus on these top matters that involve most if not all of the constituents in District 154.

I look forward to working with each and every one of you to best serve this District we all call home, and plan to ensure we keep the rights and freedoms promised us by God and the Constitution.

Protect Our Constitutional Rights

We have a president who has stated that our constitutional rights are not “absolute.” I couldn’t disagree more! At a state level, I will vote to defend and protect each one – from freedom of speech and religion, to the right to keep and bear arms to defend ourselves from a tyrannical government, to our right to due process, and to our right to privacy, for example.

Pro-Life

I believe that all life is precious and is a gift from God, and I will always vote to protect the lives of the unborn. There is already a “life of the mother” exception under Missouri law, and procedures for ectopic pregnancies and miscarriages are allowed and not considered abortion in our state.

Since the overturning of Roe v Wade, pro-abortion individuals and groups have converged on Missouri to try to get an abortion “rights” measure placed on the ballot. As the law currently stands, the passing of a ballot measure by a simple majority vote could result in up to full-term abortion being enshrined in the Missouri Constitution. I would urge voters to decline to sign any petition related to this initiative petition effort.

Limit Government’s Role

Government regulations and laws reach into almost every aspect of our lives. There is little we can do without the government’s permission or interference. I do not believe we need to create more government registry lists and databases.

Advocate For Local Control in Education

Public Schools – Our local school boards know their communities best and should be allowed to operate and educate based on the needs and wants of their local taxpayers. “Strings-attached” government funding often makes it difficult, if not impossible, to have true local control in education. I look forward to conversations with parents, teachers, and administrators to get their opinions on local control and the school choice bills being discussed this session.

Private Education – Every parent should have a choice when it comes to their child’s education. Missouri has some of the best home school laws in the country, and many families choose to move to Missouri for that very reason. I believe the preservation of the right to a private educational choice, without government interference, is important.

“I want to be a consistent conservative voice that truly REPRESENTS the values and morals of the constituents in our rural area.”

Quote of the week

“For too long, we have allowed the left to chip away at the values we hold dear. I have watched the political processes in our state the last few years and feel that we really need a change toward true conservatism before we lose any more ground.”
