I’ve taken some time recently to read more information on Senator Andrew Koenig’s Education Bill – SB727 – which was perfected in the senate before spring break.

The first picture is the title section of the 12-page bill as it was originally written. The second is the title section of the 167-page bill as it was perfected.

I would really like to see a bill where the money could ‘follow the child’, BUT, I want to see protections for homeschools and private schools so they do not fall under DESE or state control for having accepted the funds. This bill does not appear to offer that protection for families who choose homeschool or private school for their children.

I urge you to go to senate.mo.gov and find the bill so you can read it for yourself.
